While the Beta phase of PRTG 9 is still running, we will introduce some of the great new features here. Today we want to talk about the web interface.

In PRTG 9, the entire web interface was redesigned. Additionally, we took the chance to make the device tree faster, more flexible, and easier to use. This is possible with entirely revised scripting, as well as optimized object loading for large installations.

Move and Clone via Drag&Drop in Device Tree View

As an additional feature, you will find a new "Manage" tab in your tab list. In manage mode, you can move devices and groups simply by using drag&drop right in your browser while in the device tree view! Sensors can also be moved within a PRTG device.

If you drag a sensor from one device to another, this will automatically initiate the "Clone Sensor" dialog with which you can create a sensor of the same type, using the same settings, on the new device.

Device Tree Text Filtering

Using the new device tree text filter you can dynamically mark all monitoring objects whose name match a certain key word. All other objects are still there, but will be greyed out while the filter is active. This gives you a quick overview of the values and states you're really interested in at the moment.
